All information and recommendations are entirely voluntary and only suggestions. SARAH does not assume responsibility and urges you to pay close attention to your personal protection, such as; when inviting people into your Tent, be careful not to share personal information with strangers, and/or when lighting candles. Electric candles work great too!
If hosting an in-person Red Tent in a private setting, be certain to only invite people you know, or friends of people you know. If you light candles, only you as host accept all responsibilities in the proper care to prevent unwanted problems.

Preparing Your Altar
Creating sacred space begins at the center of the room, or a focused area. Creating an Altar has more benefits than a sacred center.
Altars have been used for millennia in religious ceremonies and holy architecture. Traditionally the site of a sacrifice or ritual, Altars are typically associated with making offerings to God or Gods. Each religious tradition has their own version of an Altar.
Altars represent a way to connect with your spirituality, as well as an anchoring presence. Altars can be found in many places besides a Red Tent or any circle gathering, including a place of worship, a home, or a garden.
Your altar is an outer representation of your inner attunement. It’s a way of honoring yourself by having a place that is solely yours and represents your ideals. Over time, just entering into the space of the altar has an effect on your energy and mood.
When you bring women into the Red Tent, the Altar now becomes solely yours as a whole. This is why it is special to invite others to bring an item of significance to them to the Altar. (They can take it home after you close your circle.)
Some suggested items:
Have a red scarf or red fabric? Lace it around your room or bunch it up and make it the home for your alter pieces.
Set the mood. Twinkly or low lights are fun
A candle
A statue or symbol of spiritual importance to you
A stone or other natural element
A talisman, or special ring given to you by a loved one
Chocolate!
Essential oil or fragrant flower
A photo of a loved one(s)
Musical Instrument(s)
