CROP Walk 2002

(Communities Reaching Out to People)

Father Will Crist of St. Mary's Episcopal Church is the recipient of this event's Peace Tapestry.

Read the moving letter of how this tapestry is being used as a tool of love, enlightenment, and an opportunity to demonstrate important scriptural lessons.

On October 27th, 2002 the religious community came together for the 2nd Annual South Orange County Interfaith Walk for Hunger and Cultural Faire. Guest speakers included Sheik Saddulah Kahn, Dr. of Muslim and Religious Affairs at USC and Director of The Islamic Center of Irvine, Kay Lindahl, founder and director of the Alliance for Spiritual Community; and Sukh Chugh, founder and director of  Be the Cause Foundation.  S.A.R.A.H. gave the tapestry to the hosts of the Walk; Temple Beth El,  who has decided to present it to Father Will Crist of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Laguna Beach for his undying commitment to bridging gaps in the interfaith community and building bridges in the community as a whole.

We raised over $7,000, of which nearly $1,800.00 was evenly distributed to 2 local food pantries; Saddleback Outreach and Episcopal Service Alliance. How you can help .
